What Is Meal Prepping?
Meal prepping is cooking meals in advance, having them readily available- rather than having to cook every single day. Meal prepping can also contain meal planning, be it for health or diet reasons, or just cooking your favorite variety. This is a great time saver.
Why Meal Prep?
Meal prepping works as a great tool, especially for busy and single moms, yes, as well as everyone else lol. However, the concept of meal prep is to save time throughout your daily life, leaving you with extra hours in your days to spend with family and friends. In addition, meal prepping makes mealtime much simpler, not always having to figure out what to cook. I know personally as a full-time single mom working 2 jobs, this helps tremendously.
When To Meal Prep?
Meal prepping, while very beneficial, can also be very wasteful, if not done right. When should your meal prepping take place? Well, meal prepping is best done at the beginning and middle of the week- as a NASM Certified Nutrition Coach, I would recommend meal prepping on Sunday and Wednesday Morning. The reason for this being that you don’t want the food to sit too long in your refrigerator- as it can go bad quickly.
